Poolhouse and swimming pool
14014
This design comprises a wellness extension with ancillary functions and a wine cellar attached to a detached single-family home, featuring an additional terrace and outdoor swimming pool.
The design for the extension is based on an understated form, prioritizing efficiency in space utilization and architectural uniformity. The extension is effectively utilized to reorganize the garden from the existing home, ensuring that the various terraces offer different experiential qualities.
The floor plan of the extension is designed along a circulation axis grafted perpendicular to the existing home. This axis is also extended into the landscaping. All ancillary functions, such as a changing room and shower area, toilet, and access to the wine cellar, are designed along this axis. The axis also provides a connection between the swimming pool area and the rear covered terrace. In terms of material selection, the decision was made to uniformly clad the extension with a contrasting material—namely, wooden slat cladding— giving the wellness extension its own distinct identity.
